What we do

Dismantling, Felling and Removal

If the tree is beyond saving or it requires complete removal, we can either dismantle or fell the tree depending on its location. Following the safe removal of the tree, we can take the wood away or process it on site.

Pruning: Crown Lifting/Reduction & Thinning

Regular pruning is required to maintain a healthy tree’s shape and balance. Crown lifting/reduction is an alternative to complete tree removal with beautiful results. Thinning aides the removal of dead and congested branches allowing better light penetration.

Damaged or Dangerous Trees

Strong storms, old age and diseases such as Ash dieback (See our Ash dieback page for more information) all pose a serious threat to trees and any surrounding structures, people and animals. Damaged or dangerous trees require an expert assessment to determine the severity of the damage and the safest method of treatment.

Tree Waste Removal

  • Chipping - Hiring a chipper is an effective way of processing wood that otherwise can’t be utilised. The wood chips can then be used on your property or taken away.

  • Log processing - Trees are cut into manageable sized logs and taken away or left on site.

  • Cutting up the brash (branches) to leave on site or remove - Leaving brash on site is the most cost effective option and also helps nitrates return to the soil while creating a natural habitat for small animals and insects.

Hedge Cutting and Removal

Hedges, like trees, also require regular maintenance to benefit both the aesthetics and health of the hedge. We offer seasonal trimming, shaping, reduction and if necessary, complete removal. Hedges are effective and natural boundaries while also providing vital habitats for our wildlife.

Tree Surveys for Health Management & Safety

Toby is qualified to carry out Tree Condition Surveys as well as consult on, and submit applications for, trees in conservation areas and those protected by TPOs (Tree Protection Orders). Tree surveys offer our clients peace of mind to ensure their trees have been checked for any potential disease or structural weakness. However, we cannot be held legally responsible if after completing a survey the tree causes any damage to persons or property. It is the owner’s responsibility to have recommended work done in a timely manner to prevent this. For very large, mature trees we recommend annual surveys. Surveys are carried out by climbing and visually assessing the tree for a thorough inspection followed by a written report on completion.
